Hornets

Habitat

The hornet's gray, papery nest is usually suspended from a tree limb or buried within the interior branches of shrubs. Their behavior is similar to yellow jackets, however, they are a lot more territorial and if you invade their 'air space' around their nest you WILL be stung... Repeatedly! These wasps take special care in their removal.

Identification

The bald-faced, or white-faced, hornet, is about 3 cm long and is black with white markings on most of its segments and on its face.
